McFadden says Raiders not being taken seriously

Despite their longest winning streak in eight years and a share of the AFC West lead, running back Darren McFadden doesn’t think the Oakland Raiders are being taken seriously.
McFadden is the fourth-leading rusher in the NFL and a prime reason the Raiders find themselves in the thick of a playoff race for the first time in nearly a decade.

Alameda’s Grace Na Wins State Golf Championship

Alameda High’s Grace Na has long been one of the state’s top junior golfers.
On Tuesday, she capped one of the best prep careers in state history by earning medalist honors at the California Girls State Golf Championship at Red Hill Country Club.

Alameda High girls impressive at ACCAL cross country finals

The Lady Hornets defended their varsity title on November 5, sweeping the first three spots and placing all seven of their runners in the top 12 at the ACCAL championships held at Cesar Chavez Park in Berkeley. In a sport where individual places in a race determine points scored and a team’s fastest five determine its team score, Alameda won with 17 points, outpacing Berkeley (44), Hercules (77), Pinole Valley (111) and incomplete teams from El Cerrito and De Anza.

Encinal pulls off three-peat

Moreau Catholic High delivered a spirited effort in the first quarter, but it was all Encinal afterward as the Jets won 62-28 and clinched their third straight outright Bay Shore Athletic League title and remained unbeaten in three seasons in the league.
“It feels great to continue the tradition our players started two years ago,” Encinal quarterback Andrew Ve’e said.
